Thiruvathira is believed to be the birth star of Lord Shiva. Thiruvathira festival in the month of Dhanu, which usually coincides with a full moon day, is celebrated with Thirvathira and food including Thiruvathira puzhukku.
In the past years NSS led the celebrations which were held at Sri Ganesha temple premises with special pujas and midnight ritual of “Pathira poo choodal”. Due to COVID restrictions we are forced to cancel the gathering at the temple but will celebrate using ZOOM video calls on December 29th.
